It was a 90 minute broadcast from CBS Broadcast Center at New York.
The programme was hosted by CBS, and the debate was moderated by Norah O’Donell and Margaret Brennan.
The participants were Ohio Sen JD Vance and Minnesota Gov Tim Walz.
Each defended their running mate at the top of their respective ticket - former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, while attacking their counterpart's position and record.
The debate covered various topics.
Topics like Hurricane Helene (under the broader topic of climate change) and gun violence (especially in schools) saw agreement on similar sympathy from both the parties.
They charged each other for their positions on topics like the immigrant issue, health care costs, economy, abortion laws and many more.
The debate was intense, but its impact would be decided by the November 5 Presidential election of the U.S.
