Argentina Win Against  Poland But Still Both Teams Reach Knockouts

In the FIFA World Cup Argentina outclassed Poland as they defeated Poles 2-0, but still both teams progress the knockouts

Argentina struck two second half  goals. They scored first place in Group C. Poland also reached  the knockout round as they pipped Mexico by goal average

For Poland this is the first time they have made it to the knockout rounds since 1986 following a first round

On a night when Lionel Messi had a penalty saved superbly by Wojciech Szozenzry, it was one of the squad’s less celebrated names Alexie McAllister, who broke the deadlock with his first international goal just after half time

Julian Alvarez ended any doubt on a rampant Albiceleste when collecting a pass from Enzo Fernandez & curling a shot in the corner

With their victory, Lionel Scaloni’s team leapfrogged Poland into first place in GroupC.

With their performance, they dispelled any lingering after-effects of that opening loss to Saudi Arabia & could easily have won by more goals against opponents who did not manage an attempt on target

Argentina will next face Australia in the round of 16. Poland takes on world Champions France
