Democracy, which essentially means people's power/power of the people, is the most followed form of governance in the entire globe.

The famous quote by Abraham Lincoln the 16th POTUS goes, "democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people".

In a form of governance that puts so much power and importance in the common populace, recent reports and surveys conducted by Pew Research Center show very unlikely results.

It has been concluded by the aforementioned institution that there's a significant amount of dissatisfaction and frustration among the people with their governance, claiming that their voices of need go unheard, the rate of satisfied people has fallen.
With such a questionable state of democracy, 2024 has been declared "Super Year" for hosting the largest number of elections in a year, UNDP claims that around half of the world's seven billion people have voted this year.
The aforementioned institution works for strengthening democracy and making the world a place of good governance as it points out that seventy-two countries hosted elections this year.

It's working towards eradicating the obstacles and limitations in today's election processes by providing assistance to women, resisting misinformation and so on.
Inflation has caused a very poor economic climate and extreme distress among the people, this was further worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic that put the world in stagnation for two good years followed by extreme price hike.
These problems affected people a great deal because the majority haven't yet recovered from the losses incurred during the pandemic, this in return greatly affects the ideals of democracy, for if the people aren't satisfied it is hardly a people's government.
