How might anyone forecast the Presidential race? According to Professor Allan Lichtman, who teaches at American University in Washington, D.C., a typology of presidential elections involving 13 points is employed to predict future results.

In the view of Allan Lichtman, who has called 10 of the last 11 US presidential elections for the winning party, Kamala Harris will win next week, even if there is a "October surprise.

Lichtman has claimed the "October Surprising" is not a true event and points out that in fact he never changed his prediction just to accommodate it.
