22-year-old Kate Douglass won the gold medal in the 200m breaststroke by defeating South Africa’s Tatjana Schoenmaker at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The 200m breaststroke is not an easy race, considering several swimmers have faced challenges in the past.
On the other hand, veteran American swimmer Lilly King, competing in what may be her last Olympic tournament, didn't have a good outing as she finished outside the medal standings in the final.
With this win, it became the fourth gold medal for the Americans, along with 6 bronzes and 10 silver medals.
America is once again demonstrating why they are considered the best swimming team in the world.
Douglass won her first Olympic medal, a bronze, at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
But this time, after years of hard work, she managed to cross the final hurdle and win gold.
