He continued his good form in this all-important quarterfinal and has defeated his Chinese Taipei counterpart to secure a semifinal place in the Badminton Men's Singles at the Paris Olympics 2024.
After winning the quarterfinals, Lakshya becomes the first Indian man to reach the semifinals of the Badminton Men's Singles.
The match was a nail-biter with ebbs and flows throughout.
Eventually, Lakshya defeated Chou Tien Chen, taking the game to the third round with scores of 19-21, 21-15, 21-12.
Lakshya is having a great debut in the Olympics, having beaten Indonesia's Jonathan Christie and his Indian compatriot HS Prannoy before qualifying for the quarterfinals.
After the game, Lakshya said, "This (Olympics semifinals) is something I never dreamt of, and I think it feels really good to be here.
I think there is a lot more work to do," added Lakshya.
