The world’s last Grand Slam trophy is set to get underway today in New York, as top athletes vie for another opportunity to secure a major title.

Legendary tennis athlete Novak Djokovic will look to continue his strong form, aiming to extend his lead in the all-time men's singles Grand Slam titles.
He will aim to secure his 25th Grand Slam title in the upcoming US Open in New York.
On the other hand, hometown favorite Coco Gauff will aim to overcome her recent struggles and defend her women’s singles title, which she won in 2023.
This tournament will begin against the backdrop of a controversy involving a doping scandal surrounding Jannik Sinner.
Although Sinner has been cleared to participate despite failing two doping tests in recent weeks, the decision has been met with criticism.
The main draw of the tournament began on August 26th, with the first round of men’s and women’s singles matches.
The matches are being hosted by the United States Tennis Association at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
The total prize money for the tournament is $75 million, the highest ever for the US Open.
