The Mayor of Dolton, Illinois, has come under scrutiny for hosting an $85,000 event that reportedly had minimal attendance. The event featured R&B singer Keke Wyatt and rapper J. Holiday.

Many residents in the community, including Sherry Britton and Jennifer Roberts, expressed dissatisfaction and criticized Henyard's spending habits.

The Dolton Board of Trustees has taken several steps to address financial concerns, including requesting a federal investigation, hiring former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to lead a special investigation, appointing a mayor pro tempore to serve in Henyard's place, and instituting layoffs and budget planning.

In a tense board meeting on September 12, 2024, Supervisor Henyard was outvoted by the trustees on the budget ordinance for upcoming community programs and events, just days after voicing her criticism. A resounding majority opposed her recommendations.

Henyard has continued to defend her actions and the budget ordinance despite the ongoing criticism. During the trustee township meeting, she questioned the trustees' motives and verbally criticized one of the trustees.

Henyard's administration is facing multiple legal challenges: a lawsuit from a former Dolton village employee alleging sexual misconduct, and two cases from former employees Larry Lawrence and Dwayne Thrash, who claim they were fired in retaliation for not participating in a scheme.
