Passport Check Required to Cross Canusa Street In America
On Canusa Street, locals need passports to cross the road.
Canusa Street lies between the American state of Vermont & the Canadian province of Quebec.
Walking across the dotted yellow line down the middle of this Road requires residents to report to a border crossing office or face fines & prison time.
The border was decided in 1908 by International Boundary Commission set up by U.K. & U S.
Thus there are two countries on one street.
It was easy to cross the road before 9/11.
But there have been drastic changes since 9/11.
What was once an easy walk across the street is now a strict border crossing.
916 people were apprehended or expelled at the US - Canada border in clouding 365 in the Vermont sector.
This is an example of how a terrorist attack can affect the Day - today Life of common people at the International Border!
