USA’s Noah Lyles has managed to escape from the jaws of defeat in the 100m final at the Paris Olympics. As it was recorded, it was the closest win ever in the modern Olympics and one of the finest battles the Olympics could ever produce. Noah Lyles of the USA has beaten the Jamaican sprinter Kishane Thompson by the barest of margins, 0.005 seconds, to win the gold medal for his country. Lyles was lagging behind in the initial stage, but the way he came back to win the Paris Olympics 100m title shows his determination and dedication. Interestingly, the difference between Lyles and the sprinter who came last, Oblique Seville, was merely 0.22 seconds.
Lyles just won by having his torso ahead of the rest of the sprinters. As I said earlier, Lyles was slow to start and was last among the 8 runners at the 30m mark. But as the race progressed, Lyles showed the world why he is the world champion in the 100m and 200m as he crossed Jamaican Kishane Thompson in the blink of an eye.

The spectators at the Stade de France witnessed a high-voltage finish at the Paris Olympics, and the crowd had to wait as the final decision came on the big screen to end the suspense. Lyles was sponsored by the renowned company Adidas. “I want my own shoe, I want my own trainer. I am dead serious. There is no money in spikes. Even Michael Johnson didn’t have his own sneaker. For how many medals we bring back, for the notoriety that we get, the fact that hasn’t happened is crazy.”
