Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris went head-on in a fiery exchange against former President Donald Trump for the upcoming general election organized by the Commission on Presidential Debates. Harris clashed with Trump over several issues faced by Americans. Harris challenged Trump, charging him with the “worst unemployment crisis in the US since the Great Depression,” mentioning that the former President had departed the US in a “mess” that her administration cleaned up.

She went on to charge Trump with the “worst public health epidemic in a century.” Harris’s all-out assault put him in a tight spot in what she characterized as “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”

She criticized the previous US President for engaging in “divide and distract tactics.” According to her, the US today is severely polarized on several issues, from immigration to race to religious intolerance and hate crimes. Vice President Harris blamed Trump for creating such a divide in American society. She targeted him over the 2020 attack on the US Capitol, in which thousands of people stormed one of the top institutions in the United States.
