Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani recently visited the sacred Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines in Uttarakhand, seeking blessings ahead of the auspicious Diwali festival. During his visit, Ambani donated a generous sum of ₹5 crore to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).
Ambani was welcomed by the temple committee upon his arrival. Surrounded by tight security, he offered prayers at both the revered shrines, which hold immense significance for the Hindu community as part of the sacred Char Dham yatra.
The Kedarnath temple, one of the twelve holy Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, is believed to have been built by the Pandavas to appease the deity. Meanwhile, the Badrinath shrine is associated with Lord Vishnu, who is said to have meditated there. Devotees believe that worshipping Lord Vishnu in his Badrinath form and taking a holy dip in the Alaknanda River can purify one’s soul.
