Nobody is aware of who the new James Bond will be. But the next big name rumored to sing the forthcoming 26th Bond film is none other than singing sensation Taylor Swift, which would undoubtedly be a massive feat.

After her triumphant performance at the VMAs on Wednesday, odds on her being picked to sing the next Bond song have dropped all the way to just 5/1 with some bookmakers. Betldeas.com spokeswoman Lee Astley said in an interview with Metro.co.uk,”Taylor Swift is right up alongside the likes of Harry Styles and Ellie Goulding in the running for the next Bond film.”

Lee spoke about Taylor Swift as being a force to be reckoned with over the past year or so, and her seven-award haul at the VMAs on Wednesday night has her as a brand-new entry in the market to sing the next Bond theme song.

Lee further mentioned how the American superstar has been given odds of 5/1 for her dulcet tones to record the theme song, which will accompany 007’s next appearance on the big screen. Harry Styles still heads the betting at 2/1, with other household names from the UK like Ed Sheeran and Adele, both given a nod in the market at 7/1 and 10/1, respectively.

Earlier this month, it was speculated that the announcement that will confirm the next James Bond theme song singer will be made soon.

We have all the time in the world to debate the relative merits of 50 years of James Bond music, as we do each time a new entry, like Billie Ellish’s “No Time to Die,”  is added to the canon. And in the case of the name of the film, a long-distant Bond song has also been revived for the new soundtrack—Louis Armstrong’s “We Have All the Time in the World,”  the impact of which may cause everyone to completely rethink where that love theme from “On Her Majesty’s Service“ ranks, now that it puts us in mind of sad Daniel Craig instead of sad George Lazenby.

Taylor Swift’s name is at the top of the list, according to Hollywood gossip surrounding the new Bond theme song singer!
