Can Ben Simmons Break His Two-Year 57-Game Streak in the NBA 2024-25 Season?

Ben Simmons, Brooklyn Nets, NBA 2024-25, NBA comeback, NBA injuries

After suffering from injuries and a below-par performance in recent years, former No.1 overall draft pick, Ben Simmons is ready to make a grand comeback in this NBA season. Simmons was first drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the year 2016 and was the No.1 draft pick at that time. During that time, Simmons faced various issues. He had some technical issues like a lack of an impressive jump shot which didn’t allow him to perform the way he wanted. Eventually, the Philadelphia 76ers released him following a poor season. Then he moved to the Brooklyn Nets. But there, also his performance was spoiled by injuries which has limited his accuracy and playtime over the past two and a half seasons. However, the recent workout videos indicate that Simmons is looking fully fit and is raring to perform his best in this NBA season.

But despite being fully fit, there is always a question for how long he can remain fit and perform. Looking at the past, the list of injuries he suffered, there is always a bit of pessimism. Over the past two and a half seasons, Simmons has only played 57 games for the Nets. Simmons’ trainer Chris Brickley has posted a video on X where he is working with Simmons to improve the shooting form. One of the fans on X commented “Shoutout Chris Brickley but Simmons a lost cause”. But Brickley responded in style saying “Thanks bro but Ben is healthy, moving very well, he is better now than his All Star seasons. I’ve never co-signed a player that didn’t prove it when their season started. Trust me on this one.”

In this upcoming season, the Nets are looking for a much improved performance from Simmons. It is now up to Simmons whether he can transform his off season improvement into on court success. Ben Simmons‘ form will be extremely crucial for the Brooklyn Nets as they are looking to build momentum and get to the top of the standings. When Simmons was free from injuries he was a much better player but consistent injuries halted his performance which affected his team and the Nets will be hoping for an injury-free performance from Simmons this season.
