Major Winners of the Night

One Battle After Another (4 Wins)

Paul Thomas Anderson’s political satire starring Leonardo DiCaprio dominated the night with wins for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress (Teyana Taylor). The Warner Bros. release led the nominations with nine total nods and converted four into wins.

Teyana Taylor gave one of the night’s most emotional speeches, addressing young women: “To my Brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability.”

Adolescence (4 Wins)

Netflix‘s limited series swept the TV categories with wins for Best Limited or Anthology Series, Best Actor (Stephen Graham), Best Supporting Actor (Owen Cooper), and Best Supporting Actress (Erin Doherty). Cooper made history as the youngest male winner in his category.

Cooper reflected on his journey in his acceptance speech: “I took a risk, and I went to drama classes. I was the only boy there. It was embarrassing, but I got through it. I’m still very much an apprentice.”

Hamnet (2 Wins)

Chloé Zhao’s intimate drama about William Shakespeare’s family life won Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Female Actor (Jessie Buckley). The Focus Features film was considered a major upset of the evening, with Buckley’s performance emphasizing internal, domestic stakes over larger-scale drama.

The Secret Agent (2 Wins)

Brazil’s entry won Best Non-English Language Film and Best Male Actor – Drama (Wagner Moura). Moura celebrated in his acceptance speech: “Democracy, culture, fairness, they coexist.” The double win from Neon confirms the rising global reach of non-English narratives competing on equal footing with Hollywood productions.
