Netflix AI Discover: Is It Available in the US?
Netflix AI Discover is rolling out in the US, in English, on supported smart TVs. Netflix announced the feature on November 3, 2026. The rollout is gradual and will reach users over the coming weeks. Netflix describes AI Discover as a ‘test kitchen’ for trying new discovery approaches. AI Discover adds a Discover tab with mood, occasion and time-based themes such as “Something Light”, “Scare Me” and “Family Movie Night”. The feature is marked by a red gem icon and a ‘New’ label.
The feature may reduce scrolling time, but Netflix has not released data to support this. The trade-off is that AI Discover shapes what titles appear first in the tab. Titles you reject stay suppressed within AI Discover. The Tune Your Recommendations button gives you some control over what shows up. The announcement does not explain how viewing data is used; Netflix points to its Help Center for details, which we have not yet reviewed.
Unlike a plain scroll through titles, AI Discover groups them into themes tied to mood, occasion and time. In our view, the themes function as starting points rather than final recommendations. To adjust your preferences, read our guide to Netflix Tune Your Recommendations. For background on how streaming apps use what you watch, see our piece on streaming services and viewing data privacy.
Netflix’s announcement covers availability, the themes and the Tune Your Recommendations button. It does not say what viewing data AI Discover uses, how that data is protected, or whether you can opt out. That gap matters because the feature shapes what you see first.
Is Netflix AI Discover available in my country? Not yet for most viewers. The feature is limited to the US, English-language users and supported smart TVs. The rollout is gradual, so some US users may see the Discover tab after others. Netflix has not announced a date for other countries.
