Derek Wolfe, a former NFL defensive tackle player and Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos, took to Instagram to share his experience of using a bow and arrow to kill a mountain lion that had been causing problems in a neighborhood. The sports radio host and 32-year-old revealed that he was contacted on Tuesday about a male mountain lion that had killed two dogs and was residing under a woman’s porch. He also shared a photo of the lion’s bloodied corpse.
Derek Wolfe, a former NFL defensive tackle player and Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos, recounted his experience of hunting a mountain lion in the Rockies. After discovering a mule deer that the animal had apparently killed, Wolfe set out on a hike that took him 9,600 feet up a mountain. Despite feeling “exhausted” and “dehydrated,” he spotted the big cat and used his bow to drive an arrow through it. He then dragged the animal down the mountain to his truck. The picture he posted on Instagram shows him, at 6 feet 5 inches tall, carrying the enormous feline, which he estimated to weigh around 195 pounds.
In a separate post, former NFL player, Derek Wolfe, revealed to a guide he was hunting with that the experience was nearly fatal for him. The 32-year-old Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos, who had a 10-year career in the NFL before retiring in 2022, spoke candidly about the danger he faced while on the mountain. Wolfe, who also works as a co-host for “The Drive” on 104.3 The Fan, a Denver sports radio station, had 316 tackles and 34 sacks in his career.
