Israel and Iran have launched direct attacks against each other since Friday, marking their most serious military confrontation ever.
Israel struck first on June 13 with “Operation Rising Lion,” hitting Iran’s nuclear sites and military bases. These attacks killed several top Iranian military leaders and damaged nuclear facilities, especially at Isfahan’s uranium conversion plant.
Iran hit back with waves of missiles and drones, striking Israeli cities like Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Bat Yam. Their latest attack early Monday damaged buildings and infrastructure across Israel.
The death toll continues to rise. Iran reports 224 people killed and more than 1,400 wounded. In Israel, at least 14 people have died, including civilians killed when missiles hit apartment buildings.
“Iran will pay a very heavy price for the murder of civilians,” Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said while visiting damaged sites. He warned Israel would strike with “overwhelming force” and hinted that Iran’s government might fall as a result.
