- Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in a post on X clarified her statement given in March which Trump had dismissed as “wrong”. In the post she blamed the media for presenting her statement out of context and accused the media for spreading fake news. She said in her post on X that, “America has intelligence that Iran is at the point that it can produce nuclear weapon within weeks to months.”

- The International Atomic Energy Agency has reported that a centrifuge manufacturing workshop has been hit in a recent Israeli attack. The workshop located in Esfahan is the third such facility to be targeted by Israel since last week. Director General of IAEA Rafaell Grossi further said that this facility was previously under monitoring and verification by the UN agency as part of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Mr. Grossi stated that there was no nuclear material at this site and therefore no risk of radiological consequences.
- In a post on X, French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian called him, during which Mr. Macron reiterated his stance against Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons and demanded the release of Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who have been detained in Iran since May 2022 on spying charges. Mr. Macron urged that the conflict can only be ended through diplomatic talks.

A 5.1-magnitude tremor occurred in Iran on Friday night at 9:19 p.m. local time, with the earthquake’s source positioned about 22 miles southwest of Semnan, as reported by the United States Geological Survey. The seismic event caused light shaking across the region, though the earthquake’s effects may have extended beyond the mapped areas of significant ground movement. Researchers are continuing to examine seismic readings and may update both the magnitude measurement and impact assessments as they process additional earthquake data.

- Iran’s Foreign Minister speaking with reporters said, “Iran is ready to consider diplomacy once again and once the aggression is stopped and the aggressor is held accountable for the crimes committed… We support the continuation of discussion with [Britain, France, Germany and the European Union] and express our readiness to meet again in the near future.”
- Amid the ongoing Israel-Iran full blown conflict occupying all major news across the globe, UNICEF highlighted a grave situation facing Gaza. Posting on X, the UN agency reports that Gaza is now facing an acute water shortage and merely 40% of drinking water production remains functional and on the brink of collapse.
