After the 2021 heartbreak at the Tokyo Olympics, life has come full circle for American swimmer Torri Huske. She was about to win a medal in the 100m butterfly race in 2021 but finished fourth at the last moment. Her dreams were shattered as she missed the podium by a second. Three years later, she managed to turn things around, coming third at the 50-meter mark of the 100m butterfly race. She was 0.21 seconds behind her legendary teammate Gretchen Walsh. “I’m not going to lie, that was devastating. It really fueled me, and I think that made me better,” said Huske.

Chris Guilliano, a fresh graduate, won his first gold medal as a swimmer for America at the Paris Olympics 2024. His team came first in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay race. It is a fairytale start for the youngster, who is becoming a great swimmer. An interesting fact is that Guilliano will be a senior this school year at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend. His team included Jack Alexy, Caeleb Dressel, and Hunter Armstrong. “Coming into this meet, I didn’t really know what to expect in this race. But I think the more I swim this event, the more I get used to it. I think we’ve seen this throughout the course of the year. I wasn’t really going crazy times, but I was finding out different ways to swim it and really execute it,” said Guilliano.
