“Alien Romulus” is the summer sensation. The new chapter in the saga, this time directed by a fan like Fede Álvarez, is packed with surprises throughout its two-hour runtime. If you haven’t seen it yet, we recommend you stop reading now, as we will be discussing the actor who physically embodies the most disturbing enemy in the saga.

The most disturbing enemy in the saga is in “Alien Romulus,” and it’s flesh and blood. The production team chose not to create the hybrid between Alien and Human with special effects. Instead, they brought it to life through the performance of Robert Bobroczkyi, a Romanian basketball player who stands 2.31 meters tall. His slender, long-limbed appearance is perfect for portraying the image of a humanoid enemy. In “Alien Romulus,” he takes on the role of “The Descendant,” the child who is abruptly born from Kay’s (Isabela Merced) womb. The young woman injected herself with a dose developed by the station, combining human and alien genetics. What they thought would be the “perfect human” turned into an abomination that nearly destroys the protagonist, Rain (Cailee Spaeny).

In “Alien: Romulus,” a mutant xenomorph called The Offspring appears. It turns out that a real person portrayed this creature on screen. Meet Robert Bobroczkyi. For Bobroczkyi, his appearance in the film marks his acting debut. He appears in almost ten scenes throughout the film, but his menacing appearance gives him unique qualities for portraying this type of character.

According to the film’s credits, a young man named Robert Bobroczkyi donned the alien suit. Before debuting as an actor in cinema, he made a name for himself in the world of basketball due to his impressive height of nearly 2.31 meters (7 feet 7 inches). Interestingly, Bobroczkyi was born tall, inheriting his height from his parents: his father is 2.15 meters (7 feet 1 inch) tall, and his mother is 1.90 meters (6 feet 3 inches), making it a clear family trait. Bobroczkyi, of Romanian origin, was a basketball prodigy from his teenage years due to his height and skills on the court. His biggest dream was to join the NBA, and in 2016 he moved to Ohio, USA, to attend high school and later university. There, he played at Spire Institute, Grand River Academy, and Rochester University. Although he was close to achieving his goal, he unfortunately began suffering from back pain and other physical issues due to his height, which prevented him from joining the NBA.

Despite these physical challenges, Bobroczkyi did not shy away from the spotlight and found a new opportunity in the entertainment industry. The young former basketball player caught the attention of film producers who were looking for someone with exceptional physical characteristics to portray creatures in science fiction and fantasy films, with his height being a key aspect in bringing unique characters to life. It was then that the creators of ‘Alien: Romulus,’ upon seeing him, knew he was perfect for the role. His height and slender build fit perfectly with the vision they had for the alien’s movements and physical appearance. Fede Álvarez, the film’s director, explained in an interview with ‘USA Today’ that Robert left him more than impressed, as, despite having no acting experience, he did an outstanding job portraying the half-alien, half-human xenomorph. Alvarez said, “Being tall is one thing – next to Cailee who is 5 feet tall, that’s magic. But he really brought a talent that blew us all away. He goes toe-to-toe with Isabela in a face-to-face (encounter) and he’s fantastic.”

For now, Bobroczkyi has not commented on his experience working on the ‘Alien’ saga or whether he has any other film offers, but it seems that horror fans would love to see him take on another monster role.
