Actress Angelina Jolie has requested through her legal team that Brad Pitt end the ongoing dispute over their French vineyard, Château Miraval, which they once owned together. In 2021, already separated from the actor, Jolie sold her share of the property for $64 million to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler without prior notice, which infuriated Pitt. The two celebrities remain locked in the dispute over the vineyard, and Pitt’s legal team has requested that Jolie’s team disclose their history of confidentiality agreements to prevent the vineyard case from becoming a new litigation in their divorce case.
According to People magazine, Jolie’s attorney Paul Murphy submitted a statement in response to a petition from Pitt, where the actor requested that third-party communications he exchanged after a 2016 fight with his ex-wife, during a flight, remain undisclosed. Murphy suggested that Pitt should put aside the issues and end the legal battle. Murphy claimed they would have no problem revealing the Non-disclosure agreements but asserted that Pitt’s request might be another attempt to cover up his personal misconduct.
“(Pitt) tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a newly expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse. Those actions are central to these proceedings. We are not at all surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts” “While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong,” the People’s article stated.
According to reports, Brad allegedly verbally and physically assaulted one of his children on the couple’s private plane while the other five were present; Pitt was reportedly drunk, and something triggered an argument between him and Angelina, and another with his then 15- year-old son Maddox, which “was not handled in the right way and escalated more than it should have.” However, a source close to the actor clarified that no one was physically hurt and denied that Pitt had hit his son in the face. “It’s extremely upsetting. She has used the kids as a weapon against Brad; she has separated them from him,” another source told Page Six, alleging that the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ star practically has no contact with his adult children, and visits with the twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, are “limited.” In fact, several of them no longer use their father’s last name.

After that scandalous flight, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She also requested sole custody of their six children, a decision that sparked the first conflict with Brad Pitt. “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time,” one of her lawyers said at the time. For his part, Pitt confessed to being very sad about the situation but assured that his focus was on the children’s well-being. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this difficult time,” the Hollywood star pleaded. However, that desired peace and privacy never arrived, and the former couple entered into an endless legal and media litigation.
