Luca Ramirez who is the son of Manuel or Manny Ramirez, former Dominican-American professional baseball outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB), committed to the Tennessee Vols baseball program last Friday. Luca Ramirez is the class of 2024’s first baseman and outfielder to join Tennessee baseball.
In a recent Instagram post, Ramirez said, “I am insanely excited to announce that I will be committing to the University of Tennessee…I’d to thank my dad and my mother for believing in me and giving me all the support I need.”
Reportedly, Ramirez is listed as 6 foot and 194 lbs. He is known to play high school baseball at American Heritage School in Plantation, Fla. However, there’s no guarantee that he will ever make it to the final campus since baseball commitments can be tricky. Ramirez can either join Tennessee for three years or can go to the majors straight from high school.
Ramirez is 16 years old and will be recruited in batch 2024. Ramirez is a left-handed hitter with good footwork. He also takes good routes in the outfield. He attended the 2022 PG Underclass All-American Games last year. There’s a high chance Ramirez would get better in his game with the best possible coaching and more exposure at Tennessee.
