Nail-Biter Finish: USA Secures 40th Gold in Women’s Basketball to Edge Out China at Paris Olympics Medal Tally

USA has surpassed China in the medal race, becoming the first country to receive the most medals at the Paris Olympics. The USA faced France in the Women’s Basketball final in Paris. France missed the chance by the barest of margins, and the match ended in a tight finish. Initially, the USA was behind in the gold medal race until the Women’s Basketball team secured a victory against France. Then, China and the USA were tied in the medal list, each securing 40 gold medals. However, after the crucial win against France, the USA topped the medal tally for four successive games. The USA defeated France with a score of 67-66, leading to a thrilling finish.

The USA now holds a tally of 126 medals, the highest number across the world in the Olympics, consisting of 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze medals. Meanwhile, China concluded its campaign with 91 medals, including 40 golds. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China had topped the medal tally with 48 gold medals. China had a terrific tournament in swimming competitions, including artistic swimming and diving.
