In the uneven bar finals, Suni Lee took the bronze medal, securing third place. Kaylia Nemour of Algeria clinched the gold to secure the first place, edging out China’s Qiu Qiuan. The margin of victory was very close between these two. Suni Lee created history as this was her sixth Olympics medal in her career. She also won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020-21.

Nemour is a French national and most of the time, she trains in France. However, Nemour had to shift to Algeria due to a problem with the French gymnastics federation. Meanwhile, Suni Lee suffered from several kidney diseases, which restricted her training. At one point, she wasn’t even thinking about the Paris Olympics.
In December last year, she recovered and now has three Olympic medals in her kitty. That’s how fast things change in life. “I feel like I do really well with the pressure when it just comes down to me. I competing in team final. It’s so nerve-wrecking. I have to compete for the team and my score counts and it’s not just for me, so if I were to mess up, I would take it really hard,” said Suni Lee.
Now, Lee has six Olympic medals in the all-around, including the bronze, and now she is only left behind Shannon Miller. If she manages to equal Shannon, she will have a great chance to do it in the balance beam final.
