Trump Claims Biden’s Policies Triggered Global Crises—Can the World Handle the Fallout?

GlobalCrisis, InternationalRelations, Trump Biden, USPolitics

Former President Donald Trump blames President Biden for crises around the globe. But the reality is that presidents inherit a world already hurtling through history. In former President Donald Trump’s explanation of global events from the campaign trail, the world would not be aflame had he remained in the Oval Office. According to him, President Biden and Vice President Harris were responsible for setting off “the collapse of American credibility and respect all around the world.” Afghanistan would not be ruled by the Taliban.

He insists that Iran would not be arming Hezbollah, the Houthis, or moving inexorably toward the capability to build a nuclear weapon. Trump feels that Israel would never have been invaded by Hamas. This was stated by Trump in the debate that ultimately forced President Biden out of the race. It is a politically appealing argument, but such a statement can be made only in a political debate.

Now, the picture of political debate has changed. Ukraine is the best example. Nowhere does the accounting of history diverge more than over Ukraine. The insistence of Trump that Russia never would have invaded Ukraine on his watch, because Putin respected him too much, is unprovable. At present, Ukraine has occupied more than a thousand square kilometers of Russian territory.

Fresh controversy brews over Trump’s Arlington National Cemetery visit. The Arlington confrontation is not Trump’s first military controversy. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court, for now, has kept Biden’s student debt plan. The new plan was part of a piecemeal approach to student debt after the justices rejected a proposal last year that would have canceled more than four hundred billion dollars in loans. The decision is the latest blow to the Biden administration’s debt relief efforts, which Republican-led states have repeatedly challenged.

With flannel, football, and pheasants, Harris and Walz make a play for Trump territory. The Harris campaign sees an opportunity with white moderates and blue-collar voters in rural counties and exurbs, hoping to narrow the GOP’s winning margins in those areas. The NYT reports that Joy can do more than beat Trump. According to David French, there is a difference between beating a candidate and sidelining a movement. French feels that politics will never be described as kind, and the Democrats are fully capable of their own abuses, but there is simply no bottom to MAGA behavior.

So the bottom line is that with just nine weeks left for the presidential election, the campaign is getting more funny and interesting!
