Newlin has 28 years of experience with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, Florida, where he served as a Sheriff’s Detective working in major crimes as a fugitive detective. According to Trump’s announcement, Newlin demonstrated investigative skills in cases involving armed robbery, gang violence, human trafficking, and illegal gun and narcotics trafficking.
Beyond law enforcement, Newlin established Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys, which now employs 100 attorneys and 500 staff members. In his statement, Newlin confirmed he would maintain his role as senior advisor to the firm while serving as ambassador: “For the last ten years, I have worked as a senior advisor to my law firm while working remotely.
