Yerin Ha will play Sophie Beckett, the future wife of Benedict Bridgerton.
The popular period drama series, based on the books by Julia Quinn, will follow the story of Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson) in this new set of episodes, as confirmed by Netflix last July. After a third season in which we saw the development of feelings between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, the second of the Bridgerton siblings will now take the lead to unleash his own love story.
Yerin Ha, a 29-year-old Australian actress, has been selected to portray Sophie Beckett, the new love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, in the fourth season of Netflix’s hit series, Bridgerton. Known in the industry for her roles in productions such as Halo, Bad Behaviour, and The Stalker, Ha will also appear in the upcoming Max series Dune: The Sisterhood, which is set to debut in November. Her casting has generated great excitement among fans of the saga, who have been eagerly waiting to find out who would embody one of the most beloved characters from Julia Quinn’s novels.
According to the official synopsis of the season, the plot follows Benedict, who, “despite his older and younger siblings being happily married, resists settling down, until he meets a captivating ‘silver lady’ at his mother’s masquerade ball.” This ‘silver lady’ is Sophie Beckett, “the illegitimate daughter of an earl and one of his maids. She was raised in her father’s house, although he never publicly acknowledged her as his daughter.”
