With a Nail-Biting Lead in Swing States, Kamala Harris and Trump Brace for Election Day Showdown

On the eve of the U.S. presidential election, both camps are claiming that they will win the race. Only God and American University professor Allan Lichtman know the result.  A tight race in swing states is shown by a new NYT/Siena poll. 

According to various reports, opinion polls carried out by various organizations in the U.S. are indicating that Kamala Harris has a slender lead over Trump, and hence the fight is tight. According to professor Allan Lichtman, known as the ‘U.S. poll Nostradamus’, is still confident that Kamala Harris will become the 50th President of the United States.

According to him, there are five reasons for predicting a Harris victory: 

  • Democrats uniting behind Harris prevented catastrophe for the party.
  • Don’t trust the polls.
  • Harris has charisma and a unique electoral position.
  • Elections are about governing, not just campaigning.
  • This is one of the most venomous elections.

In short, there is a close race between Harris and Trump. Whoever wins the race, has to deal with the Russo-Ukraine and Israeli-Hamas conflicts. If Trump wins, his ambition will be fulfilled, and he will have to step down in 2028. If Harris wins, she may get yet another chance to contest for Presidency in 2028. All in all, it’s going to be a nail – biting climax to a close fight between Harris and Trump.
