Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held a joint press briefing with Chairman of the Joint Staff Air force General Dan Caine. Pete Hegseth concluded that the strike on Iran’s nuclear sites was a “historic success” which resulted in ending the 12-days war and gave US leverage to have a deal with Iran. He accused the media of spinning information and undermining the success of the operation. In the context of an earlier assessment report viewed by media outlets he said, “first information are almost always wrong”.
Prior to the press briefing CIA Director had issued a press release confirming that Iran’s Nuclear program has been severely damaged. The report indicates several nuclear facilities were destroyed and will take years to rebuild.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei made his first statement since the ceasefire regarding the Iran-Israel war. In the statement, uploaded on his X account, he claims victory over the “Zionist Regime”, and warns America, “Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price.”

China hosted a defense ministers’ meeting with Iran and Russia. The meeting was held in Qingdao, just days after a fragile ceasefire in the Middle East and against the backdrop of a NATO summit. Also, the meeting is significant for Iran, for which China offered diplomatic hand in its 12-day conflict with Israel and the US.

The Israel Defense Forces, on its official X account, uploaded an image of IAF fighter jets heading towards Iran during Operation Rising Lion. These fighter jets were used to carry out multiple strikes in Iran during the 12-day war.

US President Donald Trump attacks CNN reporter Natasha Bertrand for refuting the President’s claim of “obliterating” the nuclear sites in Iran.

Pete Hegseth, United States Secretary of Defense, along with other military officials will hold a “major news conference”, announced Donald Trump. The briefing will address the US bombing of the three nuclear sites in Iran.
