The home team, the American League, made a resounding comeback after falling behind early in the game. Initially rusty, it appeared the National League would run away with the game. However, the American League struck back with five unanswered runs, including a tie-breaking, two-run brilliance from outfielder Jarren Duran, leading to a 5-3 victory. Although the National League had their moments, they failed to grasp the opportunity at the right time.

Jarren Duran won his first MVP award in his first-ever All-Star game. This marks the tenth victory for the American League in the last 11 All-Star games. The match began with two scoreless innings, but Japanese player Shohei Ohtani, playing for the National League, scored a three-run home run. Juan Soto then scored two home runs to open the account for the American League. Jarren Duran delivered the final blow with a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

“That’s an honor. Who else would I want to try to follow in the footsteps of besides a guy like that, who is not just a great baseball player but a great human being? That guy was awesome. I’m honored to be able to have his award,” said a delighted Duran after the MVP award, which was named after the legendary baseball player Ted Williams.
