Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced its 2025 lineup six weeks ahead of schedule, marking the earliest reveal in recent history. The festival returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California across two weekends: April 11-13 and April 18-20, 2025.
Lady Gaga leads Friday nights, returning after her 2017 performance when she replaced Beyoncé. Gaga wrote on Instagram: “I have long dreamed of throwing a massive night of chaos in the desert. I’ve had a vision I’ve never been able to fully realize at Coachella for reasons beyond our control.” Her appearance aligns with her seventh studio album released in February 2025, following her recent hit “Disease” and billion-stream collaboration “Die With A Smile” featuring Bruno Mars.
Green Day claims Saturday headline slots, making their Coachella debut. The punk rock veterans posted: “@COACHELLA WE’RE COMING FOR YOU IN 2025- HEADLINING SATURDAY NIGHT! Mark your calendars – April 12th & 19th to be exact – come cause chaos with us in the desert, it’s gonna be one for the books!” Their set potentially celebrates both “American Idiot’s” 20th anniversary and “Dookie’s” 30th anniversary.
Post Malone closes Sunday nights, fresh from announcing his Big Ass Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll. His Grammy-nominated album “F-1 Trillion” precedes this appearance. Travis Scott adds a fourth headliner-level presence, introducing “Designs the Desert” – a curated immersive experience marking his first Coachella return since the 2021 Astroworld incident.
Notable additions include the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel, marking Coachella’s first orchestral programming. This appearance launches Dudamel’s final year with LA Phil before his 2026 transition to the New York Philharmonic.
BLACKPINK’s influence continues through solo performances by LISA (Friday) and JENNIE (Sunday), positioned identically on their respective days. The K-pop presence extends to ENHYPEN and XG, reflecting ongoing Asian market integration into North American festivals.
Electronic music dominates quantity-wise, featuring veterans like The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx alongside contemporary acts. The Sahara Tent houses names from German label collective Keinemusik to Pete Tong.
Underground representation spans from Speed and Gel’s hardcore punk to Los Mirlos’ 1972-originated Peruvian cumbia. The Original Misfits secured unique typography privileges, appearing with their classic horror-font logo – an unprecedented exception to Coachella’s uniform poster design.
The presale begins Friday at 11 AM PT. Past attendees from the 2023–2024 festivals receive early access.
The lineup spans four Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and emerging TikTok phenomena like Benson Boone. Regional Mexican music maintains a presence through Junior H and Ivan Cornejo, though positioned lower than 2024’s Peso Pluma placement.
Experimental programming includes MEUTE’s techno marching band concept and Yo Gabba Gabba!’s first major festival appearance. The bill also features acts from Egypt (Mohamed Ramadan), Venezuela (Rawayana), and viral Indian rapper Hanumankind.
The festival combines established artists (Green Day, Missy Elliott) with newer generation favorites (d4vd, 2hollis). Ticket pricing details await the announcement.
