The Indian hockey team has created history by reaching yet another semi-final at the Olympics. This is India’s second consecutive time as a semi-finalist, and now they are just one game away from winning yet another medal that all Indians have been eagerly awaiting. After finishing the match 1-1, India sealed the victory with a terrific shootout at Yves-du-Manoir. In the semi-finals, India will face either Argentina or Germany. The team was fighting against all odds as they were reduced to 10 players when the referee issued a red card to midfielder Amit Rohidas for attempting to tackle the ball but hitting Will Calnan in the face with his hockey stick.

India’s skipper, Harmanpreet Singh, has been in stellar form, scoring the opening goal for India. Harmanpreet has scored seven goals in the 2024 Olympics. However, India’s celebration was short-lived as Great Britain fought back when Lee Morton scored the equalizer. Despite the intense competition, neither team was willing to back down, leading the game into a shootout.
