Veteran swimmer Katie Ledecky proved once again that experience is always worth its gold. She has been in stellar form in the Paris Olympics 2024. She has now won yet another gold medal in the 800 m freestyle event at the Olympics, becoming the only female swimmer to win four consecutive gold medals in the same event. The experienced campaigner finished the race in 8:11.04 at La Défense Arena, just 1.25 seconds ahead of Australian Ariarne Titmus. From the United States, Paige Madden took the bronze medal.
Ledecky now holds the joint record with fellow American legend Michael Phelps for winning four Olympic gold medals in the same event. The 27-year-old Ledecky also won a gold medal a week ago in the 1500 m freestyle. She won her first gold medal in 2012, followed by four in Rio, and then added two more gold medals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Her opponent, Titmus, also praised the legendary Ledecky, recalling that she was in school when Ledecky won her first gold medal. “I was in grade six in primary school. That’s how remarkable she is.”
