Shefali Jariwala Dies at 42: Mumbai Police Investigate as ‘Kaanta Laga’ Star’s Last Post Honored Sidharth Shukla

Bigg Boss, Celebrity Death, Mumbai Police

Shefali Jariwala, famous for her appearance in the “Kaanta Laga” music video and her stint on Bigg Boss 13, died on June 27, 2025. She was 42 years old. While early reports point to cardiac arrest as the cause, Mumbai Police are investigating, and the official post-mortem report is awaited.

Jariwala was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others. Hospital staff confirmed she was declared dead on arrival. Her body was later sent to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem examination.

“Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body,” a hospital staff member told Times of India.

Police sources revealed they received information about her death around 1 AM. They have begun questioning household staff, including her cook and domestic help. Statements from four individuals have been recorded, though nothing suspicious has been found so far.

Behind her public image, Jariwala battled significant health challenges. She had epilepsy since age 15, a condition that also led to bouts of depression. She previously shared how stress and anxiety could trigger seizures, affecting her career opportunities. Despite these struggles, she maintained an active lifestyle, crediting fitness with helping manage her condition.

In a haunting coincidence, Jariwala’s last post on social media was a tribute to her former partner and Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant, Sidharth Shukla, who also died of cardiac arrest in 2021. She wrote, “Thinking of you today mere dost @sidharth_shukla,” alongside a photo of them hugging during their time on the show.

Shatrughan, the security guard at Jariwala’s residential complex, recalled the events of that night: “Around 10:30 at night, Shefali ji was taken to the hospital. Before that, at around 9 PM, her husband Parag Tyagi came to the society on a motorcycle. I was the one who opened the gate.”
