Marvel Studios dropped the Avengers Doomsday trailer 2026 on July 20, bringing the first full look at the studio’s massive crossover. The Avengers Doomsday trailer united four franchises on one screen: the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Thunderbolts, all facing Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Anthony and Joe Russo, directors of Avengers: Endgame, are returning for this film and its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars. The film’s road here was not a straight line—Marvel pushed the release back to December 2026 and trimmed other films from its slate to make room, before the Russo brothers began filming what the studio describes as its biggest crossover ever.

Marvel’s official cast announcement confirmed this full lineup. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige described the crossover in personal terms, calling the interaction “a thrill,” and adding that it feels surreal for him, “who’s been around for 25 years.”
Downey’s path to Doctor Doom started at Marvel’s Hall H panel in July 2024, when a group of green-cloaked figures walked onto the Comic-Con stage and one pulled back his hood to reveal Downey underneath.

What Doctor Doom Says First
The Avengers Doomsday trailer opens with Doctor Doom’s own words, not a hero’s. In a voice built around a deliberate Slavic inflection, Downey’s Doom warns:
“Something’s coming. Something we may not be able to deter. Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.”
Alongside the trailer, Marvel and Fandango opened sales for Infinity Vision tickets, a new certification for premium large-format screens built around bigger images and brighter presentation.
None of this landed cold. The film’s cast-reveal livestream already holds the record as Marvel Studios’ most-watched livestream ever, pulling in 275 million views and 3.1 million social interactions over five hours and 27 minutes. It is one of several outsized 2026 swings for Marvel, alongside the Spider-Man: Brand New Day rollout that dominated pop culture conversation this summer.
From Reveal to Release
The Avengers Doomsday trailer 2026 has arrived. Marvel released the first full trailer on July 20, alongside Infinity Vision ticket sales through Fandango. The film brings together the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Thunderbolts against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, releasing December 18. Kevin Feige spoke about the crossover as a 25-years-in-the-making moment, and Downey’s Doctor Doom opens the trailer with a warning about an “unthinkable decision” ahead. Tickets purchased through November 9 come with sweepstakes entry for the Los Angeles premiere, plus an optional bundle with two mystery collectibles.
