Kamala Harris adorns the Vice Presidency of the richest democracy. But before her role as Vice President, Harris had already established herself in American politics.

In the 2024 US presidential campaign, President Joe Biden announced on July 21, 2024, that he would withdraw from the race. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, though she ultimately was not successful in the general election against Donald Trump.

Harris became the first woman of color to be nominated for president by a major U.S. party, following in the footsteps of previous nominees of color like Barack Obama who made history in 2008 as the first African American major party nominee and president.

Those hectic “107 Days” campaigns are narrated in her memoir. Rightly the memoir is called “107 Days”. It will be published on September 23, 2025, by Simon and Schuster.

Harris announced the book in a video on social media where she described her experience leading what she called “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history”. She recorded her thoughts and recollections in a journal that became the basis for the memoir.

Harris said, “Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for President of the US, 107 days traveling the country, fighting for our future – the shortest presidential campaign in modern history. I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days and with candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind-the-scenes account of the journey. I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what it will take to move forward.”

Harris said Wednesday she will not run for California governor in 2026. The CEO of Simon & Schuster, Jonathan Karp, said Harris’ memoir “is not a typical political tome, just as Harris – the first woman to serve as Vice President and the first woman of color to be nominated as a major party’s presidential nominee – was not a typical candidate.”

Karp said, “It’s closer in spirit to ‘The West Wing’ or ‘Rocky’. It reads like a suspense novel.” The memoir will recount her brief campaign stretch after President Joe Biden unexpectedly withdrew on July 21, 2024—an unprecedented turn in modern U.S. politics.

Harris will also go on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” Thursday night in her first interview since leaving office. The former Vice President, who was the first woman, Black person, and South Asian person to hold that office, has published two books – a memoir, “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey”, and a picture book, “Superheroes Are Everywhere,” in 2019.

In short, Kamala Harris will publish a book named “107 Days” about her presidential campaign in 2024. It will be published by Simon & Schuster on September 23, 2025.
