Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called it a “mistake” to allow aid into Gaza. He criticized the cabinet decision and said that the aid would benefit the Palestinian militant group Hamas. He also lashed out at Prime Minister Netanyahu for not ensuring proper proper military directives in the war against Hamas.

The UK established diplomatic relations with Syria again after 14 years. UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy pledged a £94.5 million package to support the new government of Syria. The UK has also previously eased its sanctions on Syria.

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun met the UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy at the Presidential Palace in Baabda where British ambassador Hamish Cowell was also present. President urged continued support of the UK for the renewal of the UNIFIL Mandate, and other national and international issues.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispatched negotiating teams to Qatar for the ceasefire deal. However, in an X post Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned that he found certain demands of Hamas “unacceptable”.
