A local woman named Stephanie Libbon had a mission to give Taylor Swift a big Pittsburgh welcome during her concerts at Acrisure Stadium. Stephanie appeared on Pittsburgh Today Live on Monday and shared her idea. She suggested that everyone attending the shows should bring along the Terrible Towel, a symbol of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, to show Swift a unique welcome to the city of champions. Stephanie’s daughter demonstrated how to wave the towel in a video to refresh everyone’s memory.

The concerts were held on Friday and Saturday at Acrisure Stadium, and they were part of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. The stadium was supposed to accommodate about 100,000 people between the North Shore and Downtown. Whereas its usual capacity is 60,000. Pittsburgh Public Safety was set to release more details of its plan for the event.

Pittsburgh Regional Transit also announced that they would be running additional rail cars and providing more service than usual to accommodate the large number of people attending the concerts.

In a separate event, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer took to Twitter to welcome Taylor Swift to Detroit, where she was performing on Friday and Saturday as part of her Eras Tour. The governor recorded a video peppered with nods to Swift’s top hits, emphasizing Michigan’s fight for equal rights and the need to elect leaders to fight for freedom.
